Trainings
Building Resilience in all Students
All students face struggles and adversity. However, not all students experience associated distress. This training will provide research-based strategies to grow and sustain students’ resilience over time. (We offer different training for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes). Build your own GPS.
Unlocking Students’ Potential
This training will provide research-based strategies to unlock students’ potential in the school setting.
Reducing Peer Mistreatment and Promoting a Culture of Safety and Belonging
This training will highlight key research findings to help educators and caring adults find effective strategies to address peer mistreatment, as well as equip their students with protective factors including empathy, hope, and resilience.
Transforming the Culture of Peer Abuse
This interactive training is designed to help students understand the dangerous effects of bullying. Integrating relevant research, students will be empowered to take an active stand to build a culture of inclusion and empathy—one where all students feel valued, protected, and heard.
Understanding Adolescent Development
This interactive training will provide easy to understand research as it applies directly to adolescent development (e.g., search for identity, adolescent egocentrism). Participants will be equipped with practical research-based strategies to promote positive youth development.
Parent Training to Optimize Adolescent Growth
This training is designed specifically to help parents understand how their adolescents’ development (including brain, cognition, and social-emotional changes) provides both challenges and opportunities for growth. Strategies to grow positive youth development will be highlighted throughout.
Trauma Awareness & Skill Building
In partnership with ECTIC, CORE offers a number of trainings related to trauma informed awareness, self-care, and skill building around trauma. These trainings are offered for interested community members and educators.
K-12 School Educators
The CORE team can customize trainings relevant to your school’s specific needs. Often conducted on in-service days, these trainings bring context and increased understanding around data specific to your school, including Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) and school climate data. CORE also offers workshops for parents and educators on adolescent brain development.
